Personality
On the surface Kayleth is a bright young care free Elven girl, she likes dancing, colourful clothes, and the company of like minded vapid noble girls. Although dig below the surface and there is a much more dangerous woman beneath.
Kayleth's life is driven mainly by her service to House Thuranni. They saved her from the normal life of an orphan and she swore a life of service in exchange for a place to sleep, food to eat, and an education.
She is idealistic, yet at sometimes resigned to fate. Essentially honest in character she can be flighty and rash, although also very focussed on a myriad passing obsessions.
She easily adapts to changing situations, although can be a little defensive. She likes to disarm tense situations with a joke or two. In company she is entertaining if a little flirtatious and seductive when she meets someone she likes, or someone with something she wants.

Kayleth doesn't like too many questions about herself and can be evasive, this is due to a mixture of not really knowing herself and not wanting to think about things she's had to do in service to house Thuranni as a Private Dancer.
She can hold her own on a variety of dinner table and taproom topics of conversation. From current events, and celebrity gossip to philosophy and politics.
Anyone spending any amount of extended time with Kayleth will soon notice a number of quirks and habbits. She has a dance like fidget when her mind is elsewhere. She can't help eavsdropping on other peoples conversations in social situations, only to then comment on what she's heard to the people she should be listening to.
She attends to personal grooming whenever she has some down time, always making sure her nails and hair are as good as they can be.
Kayleth likes to snack at any time of the day, sleeps in odd places and has a habit of smelling things.
She doesn't have many hobbies, but does enjoy a little embroidery to cheer her up when she's feeling down and resigned to fate.
Background
Kayleth was born into House Philarlan twenty something years before the end of The Last War. Her parents Kronath and Lyscene, both skilled entertainers in a Philarlan dance troupe, were stationed in Fairhaven at the time.
When Kayleth was five years of age, her parents were both assassinated in the fratricidal bloodbath that led to the fracturing of House Thuranni from House Phiarlan.
Kayleth survived the retaliatory attack on her parent's residence, hiding under a bed for a while only to be strangley spared by her killer.
Kayleth was sent to the warrens beneath Stonespur Island in the Lhazaar Principalities, where she was trained as an assassin by House Thuranni's Shadow Network.
Showing an aptitude for paying attention at the same time as not drawing any, she was taken from the Shadow Network and trained as a Thuranni spy.
She has never been ordered to kill for house Thuranni, in actual fact she has never killed anyone in cold blood. Although information she has gathered may surely have led to the death or more than one unfortunate person.
To the gossip traders in Khorvaire's noble courts, she was just another Thuranni hanger-on, a skilled and entertaining dancer, possessed of enough money and personal magnetism to make her a welcome guest at noble courts across the land, often for months at a time.
The secrets she learned in Queen Aurala's Aundairian court in the summer were sold to the highest bidder before the autumn leaves fell, or better yet exchanged for more valuable secrets.
Recently Kayleth was given an extended break from her duties, a year or two for herself, although at any time she may be called on by House Thuranni to resume her duties.
Life to this point has mostly been about her duty to House Thuranni, now with time to herself Kayleth is somewhat unsure what to do. She has been spending a number of weeks travelling, attaching herself to rich noble gentlemen where she can, old habits die hard.
As we begin this latest chapter in Kayleth's story, she is onboard a lightning rail, heading for Vathirond.
Family
Kayleth has no immediate family. Although she is a great great grand-daughter of the Head of House Thuranni she has only met Baron Elar d'Thuranni once or twice. The first time when she was bought to Royalport after the death of her family. It was at this meeting that she swore allegience to House Thuranni, in exchange for food to eat, a place to sleep, and a trade to learn.
Friends
Oliith d'Thuranni
As a child, she lived with Oliith d'Thuranni, a warrior and retired member of the Barons personal guard. Now retired from the guard he attends to the Baron's forests as Head Gamekeeper.
Encantis d'Thuranni
Encantis d'Thuranni is Kayleth's friend and mentor in the arts of espionage.
Lithille d'Thuranni
Kayleth's best friend. They trained together at Stonespur and have stayed in touch ever since Encantis took Kayleth from the Shadow Network. Lithille is an assassin and during the war she and Kayleth often worked both ends of a mission together.
